Pre-Education [Option 06210]
The Associate in Arts Degree in Liberal Arts with a Pre-Education option offers a degree path for students interested in teaching at the elementary grade-school level. This flexible degree plan option prepares students to transfer to a Professional Teacher Education program at a four-year college or university where the student can earn teaching certification in one of three areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Special Education. Students interested in teaching at the high school level should talk with an advisor to see what courses would better meet those requirements. The departmental requirements vary somewhat at different senior colleges; therefore, the student is strongly urged to consult the catalog of the transfer college or university and a faculty advisor. Courses taken in these four discipline areas must be completed with a grade of 鈥淐鈥� or higher for the course to satisfy degree requirements.
